in the company of these Gods! Anyone who creates & permeates thought

Savior. So I applaud these brothers & also my family King Simon,
Bro Polight, Sa Neter for being the Lighbearers that they are as well!
Big ups to the Goddesses out there to recreating our Realities! We have

What's
up? I know its been a while since I left a blog but I've
been on vacation in Columbus, Ohio enjoying the scenes, music, art and
history. I visited a few locations and had a chance to take some
incredible pictures. Being surrounded by so much nature inspired me to start painting.
I never thought I would get into painting but honestly it's pretty cool.
I traveled a lot while in Ohio but one place that really got my attention was
the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. This place is a true testament to the African
Americans struggle. It' so dope I had to visit it twice.
During the 1800s, estimates suggest that more than
100,000 enslaved people sought freedom through the Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad is the symbolic term given to the routes
enslaved Black Americans took to gain their freedom as they traveled,
often as far as Canada and Mexico. Free Blacks, Whites, Native Americans
and other slaves acted as conductors by aiding fugitive slaves to their
freedom. This 19th century freedom movement challenged the way
Americans viewed slavery and freedom.
Primarily this movement lead by
Harriet Tubman, took place in the regions bordering slave states, with
the Ohio River being the center of much of the activity. Of course,
Underground Railroad activity did not literally take place underground
or via a railroad. It was an un-official organization with undefined
structure - a loose network of people who moved enslaved black men and
women escaping from slavery to safe places secretively.
People working
the Underground Railroad developed their own language to communicate with participants,
safe places, and other codes that needed to be kept secret. Attempting
to escape on the Underground Railroad was a long journey filled with
uncertainty, fear, and the very real possibility of capture or death.
Winter was the best time of year to escape, since the long nights
provided a frozen Ohio River. All this info is played on an I-pod app as
you tour the museum. I took the liberty of bringing a camera and recording
my visit so that you can witness it your self.

The good old days of
making a record and running over to the nearest label to get signed are over. A new hip hop frontier is being discovered
as you read this blog. Indie labels are going corporate and the larger labels
are losing record sales. Entire marketing divisions are shutting down and the average artist walks around with a smart phone where they can directly market to their target audience through the various social media sites. Your average emcee has to now behave more like an emCEO.
The structural foundation of the
music industry is being tested and the results to date seem to indicate that it is failing. Companies like Apple have capitalized on the music industry's failures and have managed to stake their claim in the digital music world by collecting 30% of proceeds from every
download.
There are over 200 million iPods in circulation, that’s not counting iPhones and iPads. The result is that
Apple has online music distribution on lock. Even the Major labels have to bow
down. Listen to the industry giants fall, hip hop. This is our chance to create a new business model. We now have the power to change the way things have been done for all these years. I encourage you all to take on the challenge.

"Nice article. It's a shame that there aren't many people nowadays that look at the music industry in a serious way like you did. Too many artists assume that they are the exception to the rule and neglect the hard facts. Nowadays either you're an 'emCEO' (feeling that word BTW) or you are an amateur."

Real hip
hop is still alive and strong. One listen to Dutch
ReBelle’s music and you'll recognize that this young lady is a lyrical beast. Don't sleep on the pretty face, Dutch ReBelle is crushing most major male and female emcees in
just pure talent alone. Her
verbal skills on the mic are something any Boston native can be proud
of. Dutch is a breath of fresh air amongst all the gimmicky, soulless
music that has been plaguing Hip Hop these past few years.

It
puts a smile on my face to hear the creativity and dedication Dutch
puts into her music and messages. Listening to her latest project
“Beauty Vs the Beast”, I found a reality in her music that hasn’t been
experienced since the likes of Queen Latifah, Eve and Lauryn Hill. In
other words she is the real deal. Dutch shows off her story telling skills and
tastefully explores situations dealing with love and sex with songs like "This Time" and “Tipsy” featuring Cam’
Phlaj. She tackles the very delicate issue of domestic abuse in her song “Broken” and ends the project with “Leve Kampe” (get up stand up), a song
dedicated to her homeland Haiti after the devastating earthquake in
2010.
If you’re looking for some raw lyrics, solid songs and real hip hop
with a Beantown swag. Then get your MP3 player loaded with Dutch ReBelles
“Beauty Vs the Beast”. Just click this link to download it for free…

If
you take Prince, The Cure, Jimi Hendrix, The Isley Brothers, Bob
Marley, Bad Brains, Johnny Cash, Megadeth and Guns & Roses. Then mix
that with some dope hip hop emceeing that can be compared to the likes
of Chuck –D, Jay-Z, The Roots, Tahlib Kweli and KRS-1. Put
that all together, and you have the musical magic of Game Rebellion.
With :NETIC –Lead Vocalist/Emcee, CHEIF MED -Guitar, EMI - Keys, YOHIMBE
- Guitar, AARON – Drums, are all from Brooklyn, New York and all I can
say is these dudes kick @$$ . With Songs like “Blind” that focuses
on political awareness and “Blood(on the dance floor) “, funny title
for a song but track is about having a good time. Game Rebellion has an
edgy hard rock punk sound that fuses well with their hip hop and reggae
vibe. This is an actual hard rock band with an emcee that can run with
the best of them. They are sponsored by Artful Dodger, a hot new
clothing company based in New York. This group has given a reason to
keep an eye out on what they have coming. If you want to check out any for Game Rebellions music just click the links bellow.

In
the summer of 1996, the rap duo Heltah Skeltah (Ruck and Rock) killed
the New York underground scene with the release of their first album
“Nocturnal” on DuckDown Records. With singles like “Operation Lockdown”
and “Therapy” it was a crime that this album only sold 250,000
units. I guess that is pretty good for a group on an independent
label.
When I sat down and played this album on my I pod the other day, I was
blown away. Strong lyrics, powerful deliveries, funny
skits and sick production, everything is on point. This album is an adventure to listen to. It
was like riding through Brooklyn with the toughest dudes on the planet
holding you down. I had this one on repeat for a few days. If you're into hardcore hip
hop, strong lyrical content, or off the hook
beats, you definitely need to check out Heltah Skeltahs “Nocturnal”.
Listening
to this album gave me a lot of inspiration as I work on my upcoming
project "Something In My Eye". I'll also be
dropping a link to a free sampler called "MOVE" so check back for more updates.
